March Product Updates: Introducing Live Captions on Video Calls & More

We’ve been hard at work this winter improving the JubileeTV experience for you and your loved ones. Some of your most-requested features are here, making communication and TV control even easier. Let's take a look at what's new!
Live Captions on Video Calls
That’s right—closed captioning is now available during video calls! Live captions appear on your loved one’s TV screen, making conversations easier to follow—especially for those who are hard of hearing.
How to Enable Live Captions
➡️ Before a video call:
- Tap the Gear icon on the JubileeTV App home screen (next to the room name) to open Hub Details (Admin access required).
- Select the Settings Tab
- Choose a caption option: No live captions, Normal live captions, Large live captions
➡️ During a video call:
-
Tap Settings at the bottom of your app screen to turn captions on/off or adjust your preferred caption size. Your selection will be saved for future calls.
Mic Boost on Video Calls
Most people use the JubileeTV Voice Remote for audio during video calls. But if your loved one is using a different remote or prefers a hands-free experience, you can switch to the Console mic.
To improve clarity, we’ve added a mic boost feature that amplifies Console mic, making it easier to hear your loved one.
How to turn on Mic Boost during a Video Call
Tap the audio indicator icon at the bottom left of The App to turn on Mic Boost and select a level (Medium or High). Mic Boost will remain on for future video calls.
Mic Boost is only available when using the Console mic for video calls. When you're not on a call, you can switch between the Voice Remote mic and the Console mic. To do this, tap the Gear icon on the app home screen (next to the room name), go to the Settings tab, and select your preferred mic source under Video Calls.
