The 6-Button Remote works in JubileeTV's Passive Mode, which limits access to JubileeTV’s interactive features to keep the experience simple—no on-screen menus, pop-ups, or reminders.

The following JubileeTV features are available in Passive Mode:
  • Telescope app-based TV control
  • Activity Feed insights into TV usage and presence in the room
  • AutoConnect Video Calling
  • Drop In one-way video/audio check-in that doesn’t require the TV to be on

Is this 6-Button Remote hard to set up?

Not at all. Once your JubileeTV Hub is installed, you simply switch to Passive Mode in the JubileeTV App and follow the on-screen steps.

Do I need to program the 6-Button Remote?

No. The JubileeTV 6-Button Remote is pre-programmed to work with JubileeTV. Simply switch to Passive Mode in the JubileeTV app and follow the on-screen instructions. Do NOT attempt to program the JubileeTV 6-Button Remote - it will lose functionality.

Does it work with cable or satellite?

Yes. Our system is designed to integrate with your loved one’s existing cable/satellite set-top box. Visit our support article for a list of supported set-top boxes.

Does it work with streaming devices?

No. At this time Passive Mode only works with a cable / satellite set-top box. 

Does it work with Smart TVs?

You may connect JubileeTV to a Smart TV, however you will need to connect a cable or satellite set-top box to use the 6-button remote. JubileeTV does not control streaming apps like Netflix directly on a Smart TV.

Can I add a DVD/Blu-Ray Player?

No, at this time the 6-Button Remote only works with a set-top box. You will not be able to add other devices.

What if they prefer their old remote?

They can absolutely stick with the original remote in Passive Mode. The 6-Button Remote is just one more option for those who need an even simpler solution.

Can I still manage channels if I’m not in the room?

Absolutely. Using the JubileeTV App, you can change channels, set favorites, adjust volume and turn the TV off from anywhere.
